For the Grandmas

I didn't want this to be one of those blogs showcasing my baby, but every once in a while, I feel it necessary to give the Grandmas what they want and that is cute pictures of their grandson. So here are a handful of pictures to show what we have been up to since we moved to Las Vegas. Enjoy.

Splashing it up in the tub.

Leo, Ruger and I took a trip to Peoria, AZ to visit my favorite cousin, Tricia and her family. This is her latest baby girl Bella. Leo was definitely putting the moves on her trying to hold her hand. They are two months apart in age, Leo looks huge next to her.

Ready for fun in the water.
At a splash park in Arizona.

Father and son poolside. (Memorial Day weekend.)

Getting some sun.

Pooped out from all the sun.

WORLD CUP! Right before watching USA play England.

For Grandma Nancy. See, Leo is getting his book reading in.

A sequence of the famous rice cereal first feedings pictures. Everyone who has a baby or will have a baby, knows the hilarity of this moment. He did pretty good, especially when we stripped him down and took the bib off since that is all he wanted to eat.

Playing in the sink.
We have discovered the kitchen sink bath. Saves on a lot of aching backs.

Better Late Than Never

Leo is 6 months old today. I know every mom says it, but they seriously grow way so fast! It seems like I was pregnant forever, and ever since I got him out of me time has more than doubled. Something I saw other people do, that I wanted to do as well, was take a picture of Leo every month in the same chair with the same stuffed animal or whatever, so that it is easy to see the growth and changes that happen so quickly in this time of his life. Did it happen? No. And it's one of those things I think about at night, and I tell myself that I'll do it with the next kid. Well then I start thinking that if I do that, there will probably be a lifelong argument about how mom didn't love Leo as much as "fill in the blank" child, because she didn't do the progression pictures of him. Maybe it's my whole youngest child syndrome coming back to haunt me as a mother. I always make a big deal to my mom about how there are a bazillion pictures of my oldest sibling, including lots of professional shots. And my baby pictures basically consist of my blessing day and first day of kindergarten with only a few pictures in between. (OK. So maybe I'm exaggerating a little bit.) But those are the kinds of things I bug my mom about to this day, as a 27 year old woman. Will this be my fate with Leo when he gets older? All because I failed to take a picture of him on each of his month's Birthdays with a big stuffed animal? I sure hope not. Maybe since he's a boy and boys are supposed to be less emotional and sensitive, he'll let it slide. But just in case, I went through some of the pictures and did my best to pick one picture each month, or at least to the best of my memory, to show how little Leo has grown since December 2009. So Leo, this one's for you bubs.
